ThanksHi, can anyone give me vintage make-up ideas, e.g. eyeshadow. lipstick?
hi hun, you dont state exactly what era you are looking for but if it helps i am a 1940s re enactor and the look is.... matt foundation( not shiny) max factor pan stick is brilliant!red rouge, not too much just a little then powder over this with pressed powder.

no eyeshadow on the eyes, but lashings of black mascara and if you like a little black liquid eyeliner on the top lid only .this must be a sharp line, not blurred

finally, and most importantly no 1940s girl would be seen without her lipstick which must be BRIGHT RED!!!

to do this perfectly take your foundation over your lips then blot with a tissue, line the lips with a red liner and then colour the entire lips with the same liner, as if you are actually crayoning your lips. then put your red lipstick on over this, blot and reapply it. do NOT use any gloss, remember the look is matt not shiny. to see the perfect 1940s face look at pictures of dita von teese her make up is just right.make sure you carry a powder compact with you so you can reapply during the day.

hope this helps xxxHi, can anyone give me vintage make-up ideas, e.g. eyeshadow. lipstick?
Ask Me Makeup on Youtube has a lot of great tuts.

I really like the pink pinup makeup and I think it would be great for a wedding:

Its best to look matt if your going for the vintage look. So prime or conceal any dark/red areas first. I would suggest using a matt foundation all over and if you can get any yellow power to just gently sweep over her face it wil really balance out complexion. You could then finish with a small amount of blusher on her cheekbones.

Personally i wouldn't use any eyeshadow, if so just a little of a natural pale colour.

Use some black eyeliner. Liquid would look better as you want a dramatic look. Personally i would do a straight thick line just on the top lid.

Use alot of mascara. Or fake lashes and black. These with the eyeliner will really open up her eyes.

You want to have bright red lippy. Use a lip base over her lips first, if not, foundation or concealer will do. Let it dry and use a lip liner as close to the colour of the lipstick as possible around the lip area. Always draw the line on the top lip upwards, rather then down, as it will make them look fuller. Just incase the liner doesn't match the lipstick, shade your lips in with the liner then apply the lippy.

She'll look gorgeous!
Pale, bone colored eyeshadow. Learn to apply liquid eyeliner with a slight cat flick. Blue-pink, or blue-red lipstick. Create a matte flawless complexion.

You may want to go softer with the lipstck for a wedding. Staying with the blue-pink. Try Mac's ';Snob'; lipstick.

And a gentle touch of blush of course.
definitely use bright red lipstick
